much has been made of the conservative love with orban and hungary. none of that is encouraging. what’s less covered in much of the reporting on this that you see in the US is the environment that this was allowed to take place in, within hungary. there are a number of interesting things to take away from in this article which looks at this from the perspective of an actual hungarian with some context.
less obvious, but notable, is that hungary is a lab for american right wing think tanks.
