    this was an interesting read. kind of hand-wavy, but some interesting trends to note. of particular interest here is the absence of any discussion (or even a passing reference) to crypto. what is interesting is the creation of direct digital currency exchanges coming out of china, et al. these all service to obviate the need for a vehicle currency (aka, the US dollar).

    further, these all would seem to preserve the transactional nature of practical financial exchange systems - no apparent utility found in crypto-oriented exchanges.
