this was most certainly the case for chaz. chaz was brought up in the boomer generation and while he’d been fortunate enough to accumulate a small amount of personal wealth, there were clearly some “unaccounted for” expenditures. whether these were children who had financial needs, gambling debts or some other source of financial vacuum it always bothered chaz that he found himself more jealous of his peers and their material possessions, than he cared to let on.

the keeping up with the joneses was something for people of moderate white wealth. he felt that this was beneath him, but still, he couldn’t shake the feeling of inferiority when there was a new vehical that showed up in the condo parking lot.

this didn’t limit itself to pangs of jealousy regarding material posessions, it was bothersome to have to keep up with the latest hot places in the new yorker and the atlantic travel section. there was always someone at the happy hour talking about their plans to visit incredible location X.

he would need to embezzle something or rob a bank.
