links, etc The changing role of the US dollar this was an interesting read. kind of hand-wavy, but some interesting trends to note. of particular interest here is the absence of any discussion (or even a passing reference) to crypto. what is interesting is the creation of direct digital currency exchanges coming out of china, et al. these all service to obviate the need for a vehicle currency (aka, the US dollar)....

links, etc Small Ocean, Big Hype: Arctic Myths and Realities - War on the Rocks i’m not entirely sure why i got so sucked into this article. i find pretty much anything “arctic sea ice” fascinating. but this went a long ways towards having me rethink some of the broad/mainstream assumptions i’ve been carrying around here re: the northern passage viability and geo-political risks. #climate
