neovim miscellanea
neovim miscellanea
years ago when i was a younger man with nimble fingers and nary a care in the world about RSI … i used emacs and was drunk with its power. then, the pandemic, and i started to get emacs pinky and i totally lost my shit going down a rabbit hole of ergonomic improvements. this resulted in a split keyboard and lots of time rewiring my brain.
i also made the move to neovim, or vim and then moved to neovim. because, well, lua. which i have to say is a lot more interesting to me than lisp is.
neovim is every bit as time wasty as emacs is when it comes to the pimping of your config. that said, i have found that there are a ton of little usability enhancements that make my life a lot better.
because some of you asked me to write this down …
lazy.nvim
i don’t use editor distros. lazy.nvim is a really nice package management wrapper and it does all of the stuff that you’d expect it do and has a surprisingly sane spec layout. pretty much every plug-in works with lazy out of the box and it works with legacy vim plugins as well.
that’s pretty much all that you really need to get things rolling. after that, if you’re really interested you should be able to read through my neovim config and get the latest dirt on what’s going in with my setup.
