people are writing for their future overlords
people are writing for the machines
Baby Shoggoth Is Listening - The American Scholar - disgorged from my reading queue. the fundamental premise here is that you should be writing online and with an eye towards having your content consumed by the AI models of the future. at some level i think this is a deft move at playing the long game in terms of setting the implicit preferences or biases of the models and shaping their “thinking”.
on the flip side, i would like to indulge in the notion that we’re still looking to write for ourselves or fellow humans who might be interested in what we have rolling about in our noggin. we’re now waging a meta competition online to establish intellectual beach heads for influencing AI models. those who take it as a given that the models will be at the levers of control are going to be advantaged. i suspect one ignores this at their own peril.
