this was written back in september 2025. this has aged quite well in the intervening months. nothing is going to drive emerging markets into the open arms of china and an individually sustainable and independent energy strategy than having someone throw an ill-conceived spanner into the global energy markets with no clear plan as to how they’ll address the fallout.

it seems like we should be doing this at a personal level.
