links, etc Extracting the Essential Simplicity of the Internet | Communications of the ACM a tribute to worse is better engineering and studied underspecification. seriously though, a little bit of retrospective analysis on the beauty in the simplicity of the internet’s “design”. the underspecification and ability to work over any link type really was a master stroke.
