links, etc just cranked through the latest issue of CACM. some stuff to point back at. Misinformation Campaigns through WhatsApp and Telegram in Presidential Elections in Brazil | Communications of the ACM this was a disturbing read. brazil was wracked by lots of misinfomration campaigns being actively run over WhatsApp. journalists had no ability to keep up with the firehose of misinformation, and it was impossible to know how viral the content was in terms of its distribution....

links, etc White House Report: U.S. Federal Agencies Brace for $7.1 Billion Post-Quantum Cryptography Migration this is an interesting intersection between the state of at-rest encryption and where we can plausibly be wrt quantum computing over a project horizon. (the project here being upgrading the stored content to be encrypted with post-quantum crypto.) wow - quantum computing’s come a lot further than i’ve been tracking.
